Worlds Apart: 2.20: Wants and Fears

Moving into the next day, it’s now Saturday. The kids are off from school and Vince does not have to work. Aoi will be the only one going into work today. The family enjoys a breakfast together with Jay at the child lifestage for his last time.

After breakfast, it is time to have Jay join is older brother, Will, into the world of teenagehood. For his next trait, I want him to be Active to build muscle like his father. For this, I also give him the Bodybuilder Aspiration as a teenager. I immediately take him into CAS to give him a new haircut and clothes. I do not mess with his genes. I also bring Will into CAS to add some facial and body hair now that he’s a bit older as a teenager. He becomes a young adult in about two weeks in-game time. As soon as I exit CAS, both Will and Jay are monkeying around. These two have the best relationship as siblings.

I remodel the boys’ bedroom. I’m staying with the bunk beds, but making them look more teenagerish looking.

Soon after the monkeying around, I have Jay start working out. Will joins in later, autonomously.

Early afternoon, I have Vince take the boys to the Burners & Builders Gym in Oasis Springs and mentor Jay. Since Jay is the Generation 3 heir, I’m going to have a lot of father-and-son bonding. He seems to be bonding well autonomously with his big brother, anyway.

One of Vince’s sisters, Cassie, was also at the gym. She stops by to watch her nephew work out.

When they arrive home, Will and Jay get started on their homework. Poor Jay hasn’t even started high school yet and has homework. The life of a Sim.

I have Vince make fish and chips for dinner. None of the men in the family are vegetarian or lactose intolerant. I don’t have plans on Jay being any of them either when he gets his third trait as a young adult. It’s a bit safer to make food knowing a family member doesn’t need special care when it comes to cooking or baking.

The day ends with Will and Jay sleeping in their renovated bedroom. They still have bunkbeds, but more cozy looking. I kept the wallpaper and floor rug the same as I like the theme. It fits Oasis Springs.

The next day arrives and it’s the beginning of a new week. This Generation focuses on Vince, so I’ll spend the day working on his wants and fears. But first, we have the traditional family breakfast, this time with Jay as a teenager. During breakfast, Jay feels like he’s an adult. Vince has to remind him he’s not quite there yet.

Vince has been experiencing a fear of death since Geordi has passed away. At least he’s not having the fear of being cheated on now. I send him to the Sims Cemetery and call forth Geordi to talk about it. Who better to discuss death, than his own father who has passed away. And it took him a long time as an elder I might add.

After spending some time at the cemetery, I have Vince head home. It’s almost lunch time. Vince has a Want to learn new recipes for cooking.

Oasis Springs has been in a heatwave since Summer started in-game time, which is about two weeks in. Vince has a Want to go swimming. It’s a perfect day to take a lap or two around the pool.

After a good swim, Vince wants to now level up a skill. I want to pick something that is fun. His gaming skill is pretty low, so I have Vince jump on the computer to play some Sims games of his own for a while. The game Sims Forever looks to be set in the Sims 3 timeline.

Dinner time comes sooner than later. Time does fly in the game. Aoi is at work, so the men of the household have dinner together. I find it humorous that when I have four or less Sims eat, they all take the outside seats. I have yet to have one in my gameplay sit in the middle unless there were more than four Sims.

After dinner, I have Vince visit his sisters in Willow Creek as he has a Want to socialize with one of them. I think Zoe wants to take a trip somewhere.

The next day arrives and it’s now Monday. Vince has work and the boys have school. Aoi gets to enjoy the day off. Before the kids head off to school, the family has breakfast together.

Jay is the Generation 3 heir and today is his first day of high school, so I will follow him on just his first day. The rest of his time, I will not follow him to school unless it’s Career Day or Prom.

It’s a cloudy warm day in Copperdale. One of the first things Jay needs to do is speak with the school Principal. The Principal was already waiting outside the school greeting students. After, I have Jay go inside to pick out his locker. Jay then goes to his first class early so he can talk to his teacher.

Once class is about to begin, Jay moves to the back of the room. I guess that is typical. I always sat in the back of my classes when I had the opportunity. After class, it’s lunchtime. Jay grabs a meal from the cafeteria. He finds a table with his peers and mingles while he eats. After lunch, it was time for Jay’s second class.

At the end of the school day, Jay has become an A student. It pays to have had good grades in grade school. He is thinking about a dirt bike. He is the first in the family to actually learn how to ride a bike. If only they had them in the game. I would let him have one, then.

I am going to end the chapter here. In the next chapter, I will follow Jay to a Career Day at school. I already have plans for him, but I want to see if there will be a table dedicated to that.
