The next morning, both Vince and Aoi are able to take family leave. She is in her 3rd trimester, and she can go into labor any moment. Instead of cooking, they each have a bowl of cereal. Then they call into work for a day of family leave.
Now that Vince isn’t going into work today, I have him continue to work on his meditation. He needs it to be at level 10 for two areas of his Zen Guru in the Wellness Aspiration.
As Vince and Aoi have lunch around noon, it’s go time. Aoi goes into labor. I have both go to the hospital.
It’s snowing out where the hospital is. I have Vince go inside and check them in. There were three doctors outside. Hopefully, one will be the one delivering the baby. Perhaps it’ll be the ghost doctor. Even the receptionist is a ghost.
It turns out the ghost doctor is the one to deliver the baby. And he’s only an intern. I sure hope he knows what he’s doing.
The baby turns out to be a boy. I was hoping for a girl and have a Generation 3 heiress. I name him William. When William becomes the age of a toddler, I’ll have Vince and Aoi try again for a girl. Their second child, boy or girl, will be the next heir(ess).
At home, Vince gets to hold his newborn child. Grandpa Geordi also comes over for a visit. He must have found out about newborn William. Aoi’s mom calls ahead mentioning she’s coming over to see the little one. Even Vince’s stepsister stops by. It’s like a small family reunion going on.
I guess Aoi’s parents are staying over. I just now notice the suitcase. They’ll have to sleep on the couches as I am not renovating the second bedroom until William ages up even more. I wonder if this will help Vince sleep and not have to worry about getting up in the middle of the night.
It’s nice to have Vince cook a meal for a group, rather just for himself or for himself and his wife. Now he can make something that feeds four. Of course, that will happen more often when their second child is born. I didn’t realize Karmine was still around as well. I guess she gets to stay for dinner.
I place newborn William downstairs where Aoi’s parents can take care of him. I’m curious how much they’ll do or if Vince or Aoi will have to get up to tend to him, so he isn’t taken away.
I have Vince and Aoi go to bed at 9pm in-game time. Vince gets up autonomously around 11:30pm to take care of newborn William. Aoi’s parents seem to have found the bunkbeds that came with the house when I had Vince buy it. I guess I should have kept newborn William in the parents bedroom.
As the next arrives, it is Sunday and the first day of Spring. I added a new holiday to this season. I created a Mother’s Day. My mom passed away in December of 2023. I celebrated her on Mother’s Day. Alive or deceased, I think it’d be nice for Sims to also celebrate their mom. It’s not for a long while in my game. It’s the third Sunday and last week of Spring.
It’s also New Skill Day. It doesn’t have to actually be a new skill. As long as Vince gains a level in one of the skills he has already, it counts. I have a few he needs to up his skills in; Charisma and Wellness being the top two.
Breakfast is served. Another excellently made meal by Vince.
Vince has the day off from work today. It’s time to continue working on those two skills of Charisma and Wellness. I have him talk in front of a mirror and do more meditation. I get both to level 8. Charisma is needed to be at 8 for Vince’s last promotion at work.
Since skills are also learned at a faster rate, I’ll have Vince work on meditation for most of the day since I need him to max it out. I think Brutus wants to know how Vince is up in the air the way he is.
While Aoi is at work, I am hoping her parents take care of newborn William as that is the intent of their stay. And thankfully enough, Aoi’s dad is doing just that. This allows me to have Vince continue his skilling up in meditation and grandpa has bonding time with his grandson.
Around 3:45pm in-game time, it is time to age up newborn William to an infant. Generation 3’s World will be Magnolia Promenade which also introduced the Get to Work pack. My original plan is to have the heir(ess) be in the Detective Career. Therefore, I will have William take part in the Doctor Career. Doctors are usually calm, so this is the infant trait I give him.
I get myself into CAS to give William a small makeover. Turns out he has Vince’s hair color. It looks blonde, but it’s a tan color.
Next, it’s a small remodel of the second bedroom to accommodate William. I’ll have Vince and Aoi work on William’s milestones but won’t be sharing much. The next born child will be the heir(ess). I’m hoping for a girl. I’ll be sharing their milestones as an infant more.
As the sun is setting, I am able to max out Vince’s Wellness skill. This will allow me to also continue on his journey in the Zen Guru portion of the Wellness Aspiration as a skill level of 10 in Wellness is needed for two areas.
I am going to end this chapter on that note. Hopefully Vince will reach his final promotion in the next one for his Bodybuilding Career.
