Reaper’s Rewards
Part 8: Death’s Favorite Flower
As evening arrives, the Grim Reaper makes another appearance to Lucifer. Lucifer is so close to the Ambrosia recipe and the Reaper suggests to Lucifer he do a little more research on his own. Lucifer wonders what more than can be besides the “Ambrosia Society” Newsletter and the book he obtained that is authored by Mimsy and goes into detail a bit more. But he pulls out his phone in front of the Grim Reaper and looks for more information. One thing Lucifer found that he didn’t see or read from his other sources, is that plants understand when being talked to. They may not respond back with words, but they will communicate in other means. Perhaps asking his new spliced plants to grow orchids and pomegranates couldn’t hurt. This would have to wait as it’s late and dark.
Lucifer wakes up the next morning. Something feels odd. Looking in the mirror, he takes a look at his arm and notices he has a tattoo. It looks to be the marking of the Grim Reaper.
Heading out to his greenhouse, Lucifer almost steps on what looks to be a flower. A very colorful flower.
Lucifer has this feeling to plant it. So, he changes out some of his flowers to make room for the one he just found.
Afterwards, Lucifer starts talking to his plants. Especially the new flower he planted. Perhaps it will grow faster by doing so. And hopefully he’ll get that orchid and pomegranate from the others.
Later in the day, Lucifer does more fishing. It was good for cooking. Plus, it was fun for him to see all the different types of fish he could catch. However, today he did not expect to catch a fish that looked like a bat. At first he thought it really was a bat. But it wasn’t. It was a batfish. Instead of having it as a meal, he mounts it and places it on the outside of his greenhouse.
Lucifer did a lot of pie making throughout the day. Towards the evening hours, he opens his food stall to sell slices of the pies. Another good turnout.
After cleanup from the pie slices he sold, Lucifer checks in one final time with his plants. He notices yet another freezer boney guarding the entrance to the greenhouse. This one looks more metallic.
The next morning as Lucifer arrives to his greenhouse to attend his plants, there’s a package against his mailbox. Opening it up, it’s a painting. And he recognizes the person in the painting. It’s the author of the book he found lying next to his grim summoning contraption. It’s a painting of Lady Mimsy Alcorn Shallot.
Later in the afternoon as Lucifer is working on his plants and trees, Morgyn stops by. He had visited before inquiring about Lucifer wanting an angelfish from the Magic Realm. Lucifer had explained what he was doing. Today, Morgyn arrives to share some good news for Lucifer. The shop in the Magic Realm has acquired a death flower. Rather than trying to sell it in the shop, he knew Lucifer was trying to create one from grafting other types of flowers. Morgyn tells Lucifer he will sell it for 1,300 simoleons. As much as Lucifer enjoyed planting and learning new things from it, he needed this death flower. He agrees to the price and buys it from Morgyn.
